About Us
Lakelse Air Ltd has been providing charter services in northern BC and Alberta since 1994 and has an excellent safety record. We are currently operating Bell 204C, Bell 206B, Bell 206LR, MD 500D, AStar 350B2, Robinson R44 and Kaman K-1200 (K-Max) helicopters.
We have extensive experience in mining exploration, forestry operations such as Mountain Pine Beetle control, timber cruising, heli-logging, fire fighting, oil and gas exploration operations and flying guests at local fishing lodges. With the recent addition of pilots experienced in all seismic operations (front end work, drill & bag moves) we look forward to future growth providing a high level of service to both the mining, oil & gas industries.
In 2004 Lakelse Air Ltd expanded operations in north western BC with the opening of our satellite base in Bob Quinn. In 2005 Lakelse Air Ltd received its certificate of recognition for safety and quality control. Our company holds a safety certificate of recognition for WorkSafe BC and is audited annually to maintain the status.
The 500D, 206B, 206LR, AS 350B2 and R44 are equipped to perform a variety of tasks including grass seeding, creek cleaning, drip torching, seismic, fire fighting, drill moves, and the movement of passengers and freight. The R44 is an excellent cost effective method of moving small crews or carrying out aerial reconnaissance with one or two observers plus a pilot. The 204C is frequently used in support of forest fire fighting operations and slinging of heavy loads up to 3,500 pounds such as mineral exploration drill equipment or moving large work crews.
For particularly heavy loads, we operate the Kaman K-1200 (K-Max) helicopter which can sling loads weighing up to
5,800 pounds.
Also available for working in remote locations are fuel trucks and tankers capable of carrying up to 35,000 litres of aviation fuel.
Through our partnership of companies we are pleased to provide a variety of services. Bear Creek Contracting Ltd. provides expediting services, camp services, core storage, and heli-pad construction. The Northern Motor Inn Ltd. offers guest accommodations and meeting facilities.
